Palestinian Health Minister: Israeli use of banned weapons a war crime
Palestinian Minister of Health said the use of banned weapons by Zionist regime was a war crime. He called for trial of Israeli officials.
One the eve of second OIC Health Ministers Conference which started in the Iranian capital on Sunday, Dr Basem Naim told Qodsna that Israeli regime during its 22-day war on Gaza used many kinds of banned weapons like white phosphorus bombs and different kinds of gases.
Health ministers and representatives from 57 member countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference attended the four-day conference to discuss promotion of health services in the Muslim states.
The first gathering of OIC health ministers was held in Malaysia in 2007.
"Israelis have also used new weapons that have not ever been used and nobody knows about the effects of them," he said, adding "these are clear cases of war crimes."
"They (Israelis) have targeted civilians, children, women, houses, schools, hospitals, medical staff and ambulances. They should be brought to justice because these are clear violations," the minister added.
"Many experts speak of the possibility of spread of cancers among the wounded. Some of the wounded have lost their neural ability of concentration," Dr Naim added.
He denounced the silence of Arab and Islamic countries over the Zionist regime's aggressions and urged the members of Arab league and organization of Islamic countries (OIC) to help lift the siege on Gaza.
"They can do much in supporting us financially and logistically to fulfill our needs in medical and social fields," Naeem said.
Naeem also urged Arab and Islamic countries to pressure U.S. new government to stop its continues support for Israel.
