New York Times has distorted Mashaal remarks

Abu Osama Abdol Moti, representative of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas in Tehran said the American daily New York Times had distorted the remarks of Hamas political bureau chief Khaled Mashaal, made during an interview with the journal.

New York Times had quoted Mashaal as saying that Hamas charter belonged to 20 years ago and the policy of Hamas was determined by the experiences it has already undergone.

He said that the final goal of Hamas movement was to liberate total original Palestine and that Israel is occupier and must be dissolved.

We agreed as a temporary solution to the establishment of government within the 1967 borders however the agreement never recognizes Israel, Moti said.

Moti then noted that such claims that Palestinian groups were expelled from Syria were only psychological warfare aimed against the resistance and the countries which have embraced resistance fighters.

Moti appreciated Syria for its support to resistance, adding that in the past years the resistance groups have got accustomed to such false reports.

The Hamas representative then touched on Cairo talks to be resumed on May 16. He expressed hope that the Fatah movement would sit the table with the will of achieving a nationalistic consensus bereft of any American imposition or pre-conditions.
