Iravani: Resistance victory in 22-day Gaza war, fruit of World Quds day
Member of IRI System Interests Council described the victory of Palestinians in the 22-day war in Gaza as the fruit of World Quds day designated by the late Imam Khomeini.
Mohammad Javad Iravani expressed hope that this year's World Quds Day will strike another formidable blow to the Zionist regime’s body.
Asked by Qodsna why World Quds day was declared by the Imam Khomeini in support of Palestinian people, he said ‘Imam Khomeini in a statement issued 30 years ago revealed Zionist oppression against regional nations and disclosed international Zionism's plots in the world.
"Due to the importance of the issue, Imam Khomeini immediately after the victory of Islamic Revolution established Palestinian embassy and designated World Qods Day in a historic juncture and attracted the attention of the Islamic world to the Palestinian cause," he said.
Wave of Islamic awakening in the world of Islam following the designation of this day lead the Palestinian resistance to victory in Zionist regime’s 22-day war in Gaza, he said.
Iravani described resistance against Zionist regime as a hard blow to Zionist regime, adding the Muslims, intellectuals and freedom seekers in the world would deliver their deadliest blow to Zionist regime in this year’s Qods Day.
Pointing to the decline of Zionist regime’s power in the last decades, the IRI official said the current decade is decade of prosperity and awakening of the Islamic world because the massive defeat of Israel in two stages, withdrawal from southern Lebanon at 33-day war and Gaza war, changed the equations against the regime.
Projects to undermine Islamic Republic as a pivot of support for the Palestinian issue is doomed to failure despite allocation of massive budgets, launching Persian-language networks and creating unrest after the presidential elections in Iran, Iravani added.
He described Zionist regime’s threats against IRI as futile, adding such threats mean accepting Iran as great power in the region by Israel.
Former Minister of Treasury and Economy also termed U.S. president Obama’s new peace plan in Middle East for ending Palestinian-Israeli conflict as amature.
60 years for Arabic regimes to solve this problem are enough. Now the great powers in the region especially the Islamic Republic of Iran should be united for solving this problem, he added.
Palestine the bloody and wounded heart of Muslim world over 6 decades of Israeli occupation now experiences very bad situation, Iravani said.
