Anti-Israeli Canadian professor speaks to Qudsna
More and more western elites are joining the lines of anti-Israeli activists, albeit at a cost of their convenience. Aside from the case of Helen Thomas, the veteran White House journalist who was forced to quit his job over his heartfelt call on Israeli Zionists “to get the hell out of Palestine and go back to Poland and Germany”, there are many other elites within the western community who have broken their silence over the false pro-Zionist machination in the western community and have cried in support of the truth. Denis Rancourt is one of these truth lovers.
Rancourt is a recognized Canadian scientist in physics and has published over 100 articles in peer reviewed scientific journals. He was a professor of physics at the University of Ottawa until he dared break silence in favor of the truth and speak against the Israeli oppression in Palestine as well as the grip of Israeli lobby over Canada and the United States.
The Israeli lobby, desperate to see an acclaimed personality speaking out against its aggression tried to unseat Rancourt through a covert machination scheme. They apparently commissioned Ottawa University President Allan Rock whom Rancourt describes as “a point-man of the Israel lobby at the University of Ottawa” to search and find an excuse to challenge the renowned and popular personality.
The only claim they managed to make was that Rancourt was not allowed to assign A+ grades to all his students in his fourth-year physics courses in the Winter 2008 term. They built up on the trivial issue and steered the case to the dismissal of the popular scientist.
An unfazed Rancourt however convincingly defended the A-grade move in a 9-page letter to the university president and noted that the dismissal was actually a politicized move. He stated that the university administration's actions in general and his dismissal in particular, are influenced in part by the Israel lobby and the military-industrial complex. He also stated that his dismissal was related to his political views, specifically his position on the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Rancourt at present runs a blog (http://activistteacher.blogspot.com) where he speaks out truth in the Palestinian issue. In a latest article issued on June 30 in the blog, he challenged the Israeli slogan of “right to exist” and said “the right to exist” is an absurd posturing by Israel which must be ridiculed because “No country has a recognized God-given or otherwise right to exist” and “The right of return is a human right.”
Quds News Agency staged an interview with the academic personality following the June 30 article. Rancourt in the interview elaborated on his views, as a Canadian scientist-activist, regarding the Palestinian issue.
Rancourt in the interview speaks about his academic ordeal as well as what has motivated him in championing the Palestinian issue. He also responds to Qudsna enquiries about his views regarding the UN role, the Hamas status and position, the Islamic Republic’s role in the Palestinian issue, the Isaeli lobby in the US and Canada, the growing wave of anti-Israel inclination in the US and Canadian community, and other matters.
The Canadian scientist believes that as a solid method to resolve the Palestinian issue, countries of good will must recognize Palestine as a state and establish embassies in Gaza. In this regard, he suggests dispatch of a flotilla to establish an embassy in Gaza.
The full text of the interview follows.
Dear Denis Rancourt,

Qudsna: We know your academic ordeal which took place against any standards of freedom of expression. We’d like to know what has motivated you in championing the Palestinian issue and objecting the Israeli racism and oppression even at the cost of your convenience.
Rancourt: After living the lies of professional indoctrination and of academic elite incorporation for too long, I felt I had harmed myself enough and decided to start living in truth, or at least on the truth side of the street. I decided to make as few compromises as possible in trying to live up to the standards of authentic inquiry into real and important matters. These matters were related to the concerns of my students from around the world, to concerns of members of my community in
Qudsna: According to one of your latest articles, the “the right to exist” is an absurd posturing by Israel which must be ridiculed because “No country has a recognized God-given or otherwise right to exist” and “The right of return is a human right.” The argument might provide the ground for the idea of staging a referendum over the Palestinian issue in which the original population of historic
Rancourt: I agree that all important decisions should be made by democratic means rather than by officials concerned about their power more than anything else. However, the referendum that you suggest sounds exceedingly difficult to organize and just as difficult to have recognized by influential world bodies. Instead of such a referendum in which one only expresses one's opinion to referendum organizers, a more participatory process may be better in which individuals in their communities affirm their desires for

Rancourt: Hamas is a legitimate political representation and expression of Palestinians.
Hamas is the best placed as the completely occupied and targeted entity representing Palestinians in Gaza to judge its own methods and tactics in trying to survive Israel's persistent attempts to occupy, dominate, and exterminate. As an outsider I can see that
