Iraqi judge: Right of return, Palestinian legitimate right
“Palestinian people are a nation whose lands have been occupied and invaded by Israel”, Judge Moneer Haddad, an Iraqi appeal court judge who had confirmed ex-dictator Saddam's conviction for crimes against humanity told Qudsna Sunday.
“According to international laws and conventions especially Geneva treaty the occupied lands must be returned to their original owners who are Palestinians,” he argued.
The prominent Iraqi judge said the Palestinian nation which has been homeless since the 1948 occupation, has a legal right to come back to their motherland.
The judge urged the United Nations (UN), the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), and the European Union (EU) to take necessary actions in fulfillment of Palestinian rights including the right of refugees return to their territories.
He voiced regret that there is no hope that the international community would make an effort in support of Palestine and the Palestinians.
“It is necessary for all Muslims in the world to follow late founder of Islamic Republic of Iran’s advises and put Imam Khomeini as their model in struggle against the Zionist regime,” Haddad added.
“Muslim governments and Islamic countries must follow Imam Khomeini in confronting the Zionist regime,” he said.
