3 Regional people return to their roots inspired by Imam – political expert
A prominent Iranian activist and political expert said the regional uprisings were indirectly inspired by Imam Khomeini’s ideas and attitude, adding that the Imam’s ideas took shape in several components inside the Islamic Republic system which affected the regional nations and inspired them to rise up.
Firouz Rajaeefar, director of an Iran-based NGO in commemoration of Muslim martyrs, told Qudsna that the reactionary regimes of the region impeded their nations from getting familiar with the ideas of Imam Khomeini and therefore the uprisings were delayed.
“The reactionary regimes seriously stopped any efforts aimed to promote the Islamic Revolution’s culture. They suppressed any awakening efforts and unleashed many killings to stop people from modeling the revolution,” she said.
“Nevertheless, they gradually started to model the revolution as time passed,” he added.
Rajaeefar called the 2006 Lebanon war and the 2008 Gaza war as other sources of inspirations for the regional uprisings “as they indirectly revealed the untouched potentials of the culture of resistance offered by Imam Khomeini.”
Rajaeefar said Imam Khomeini’s thought was also distinct in that it considered any faithful individual as a member of a mainstream worldwide Islamic revolution, so that anyone of any social stratum can join the revolution.
