(15) Opening of IRI embassy in Gaza, a positive move - MP


A senior Iranian lawmaker described the idea to open an IRI embassy in Gaza as positive and conducive to expanion of ties with Palestine.

Member of the parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy, Mostafa Kavakebian in an interview with Qudsna highlighted the need for establishment of embassy in Gaza.

Pointing to the recent developments in the Middle East especially in Egypt, the lawmaker said that “surely, the current situation in Egypt as the nearest Arab country to Gaza is completely different with the era of Mubarak regime.”

The latest developments in the region paved the way for making the voice of innocent Palestinians heard in the world, he said.

In this political arena, Islamic Republic of Iran would use the opportunity and would try for the fulfillment of Palestinian interests and their rights with the cooperation of neighboring countries including Egypt, Syria and Iraq, he added.
