Former Italian Ambassador: Israel should join NPT

Former Italian Ambassador affirmed to Qodsna reporter that no country has a right to use or expand nuclear weapons, adding that Israel should join the non proliferation treaty (NPT).

Professor Jianni De Michelis was speaking to Qodsna on the sidelines of a conference in Tehran on nuclear disarmament and non proliferation Sunday.

De Michelis called for a revision to the NPT, adding that in order to reach peace and stability in the world, all countries must sign to the treaty.

De Michelis who now heads a communication institute in Italy also noted that diplomacy and talk is the sole solution to the Iranian nuclear drive, adding that sanctions would yield no result in this regard.
