Hezbollah, a mighty coalition builder in Lebanon
An expert in Middle East affairs said the political initiative in Lebanon was in control of the March 8 current due to the Hezbollah power in coalition building as well as inclination of Walid Junbalat, head of the Socialist Progressive party to the party of resistance.
HJussein Rouyvaran told Qudsna on Saturday that the resignation in last week of the March 8 current as the ensuing collapse of Hariri government showed the Hezbollah power in building coalitions, adding that Hezbollah decision was taken after Hariri failed to keep unity in Lebanon concerning the Rafik Hariri’s court issue.
“Hezbollah stripped Hariri government of legitimacy so as to remove schism in power and keep the society from tension,” he added.
Rouyvaran noted that the vote of the Junbalat party which holds 14 seats in the Lebanese parliament was very decisive in determining the overall political decisions as both the March 14 and March 8 parties have the same number of seats in the parliament (77 seats each).
Rouyvaran also noted that the March 8 current would decide on the next premier following the inclination of Junbalat party towards the current.
Also deputy of political and international affairs in Iran-based Society in Defense of the Palestinian Nation (SDPN), Rouyvaran said based on latest reports, Omar al-Kerami would be the March 8 nominee for the premier post.
