Head of Danish Islamic Association: Muslims protest in pursuit of Islam, Palestinian issue
A prominent Muslim scholar in Denmark pinpoints a growing inclination for Islamic rule and pleas for an end to Palestinian occupation as the principal motto of popular uprisings in Middle East and North African region.
Muhammad Barazi, head of Danish Islamic Association told Qudsna that the ME and African developments have gotten inspiration from a popular demand for genuine Islam and a protest against the sitting governments’ position towards the occupation of Palestine.
“What is now at issue for Muslim nations is Islam,” the Danish figure said, adding that all un-Islamic manifestations, especially social decadence and dependence to colonial rulers should be removed.
Barazi said the Muslim protestors wish to choose their own future government while they principally seek Islamic values, including the significance of protection of other Muslims’ rights in other Islamic regions.
Barazi said the protesters will keep their bond with Islam as Islam inspired them to rise up and will help safeguard their movement.
He blasted the rulers of the countries for not attending to Islam despite their claims to the contrary.
Asked about the significance of the Palestinian issue in view of Islam, Barazi said all Muslims are duty bound to support the Palestinian issue. “Muslim people must be vigilant not to allow Israel and its alies to return from windows after kicking off them from the doors,” he said, adding that if they return once again, the situation would become much more difficult for Muslims.
Asked how to lift the Israeli influence in the countries where Muslims have risen up, the scholar said the revolutions have got triumphed at the cost of the blood of Muslim youths and the people shall safeguard their legacy. He warned the Zionist regime was seeking to place its cronies inside the future regimes so as to consolidate its position in the region even more dangerously than past.
He regretted that many Arab countries have cordial, behind the scene ties with the Zionist regime, adding however that the Arab nations have become aware about such relations and that the regime seeks to hijack the achievements of their uprisings.
Asked about the role of Islamic Republic of Iran in the regional uprisings, the Danish figure appreciated the Islamic Republic for its constant support to other Muslims, namely by its spiritual support to the Palestinian and Lebanese nations.
“I on behalf of other free Muslims declare that we are opposed to those who try to disrupt Iran’s support to popular uprisings by leveling accusations at the country and say that the accusing countries are themselves intervening in the affairs of other countries,” he said.
He said it was ironical that some western countries refuse to condemn Israeli occupation while they level accusations of interference at Iran when it supports popular uprisings. “It is shameful,” he said.
