Senior pro-Palestinian activist offers Tehran open diplomatic office in Gaza

Secretary General of Iran-based Society in Defense of the Palestinian Nation (SDPN) offered Tehran open a representative office in Gaza in order to expand ties between the two nations of Iran and Palestine.

Mojtaba Rahmandoust told Qudsna the conditions are more prepared than past to open such an office, elaborating that in the past Iran had to rely on Mubarak regime before accessing Gaza which was impossible unless after granting of several concessions to the regime and Israel.

Rahmandoust noted that following the regional developments, the ground route is no more under the control of Mubarak’s followers and that the foreign ministers of the two countries have started diplomatic exchanges.

The SDPN chief then touched on the democratic selection of Ismail Haniya as premier of Palestine and said Gaza would be a good venue for such a representative office.
