Israeli escalations aimed to stop siege bust efforts - Palestinian FM
Mohammad Awad, Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Palestinian government Hamas, denounced the kidnapping and murder of Italian peace activist Vittori Arrigoni and said the aim of Israeli escalations of violence against Gaza is to scare the members of international Gaza aid convoys from traveling to Gaza.
Mohammad Awad is the first foreign minister in the Hamas cabinet appointed in a reshuffle by Premier Isamail Haniyeh in March 2011.
Awad told Qudsna correspondent in Gaza that the Zionist regime would spare no effort to stop international attempts for lifting the Gaza siege.
He called on the organizers of the latest Gaza-bound convoy, named Freedom Flotilla 2, to continue their efforts until they achieve their goal of lifting the Gaza siege and never pay any attention to the Zionist Regime’s threats.
The regime tries to provoke security chaos to the Gaza Strip again and damage popular solidarity with the Palestinian people, the minister added.
He also deplored the silence and double standard of the international community and the bodies that claim supporting human rights when they come to the case of the Zionist regime’s crimes.
