Lawmaker: Iran waits for Hamas approval to establish embassy in Gaza
A senior Iranian lawmaker said the Islamic Republic would establish an embassy in Gaza as soon as Palestinian legal government in Gaza, Hamas agrees to the establishment.
Head of the parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy, Alaeddin Boroujerdi in an interview with Qudsna highlighted the need for establishment of ties between the Islamic world and Palestinians, adding that in light of the current conditions in Egypt and after the collapse the Mubarak regime it would be a good opportunity to establish an embassy in Gaza.
Before the uprisings in the region, the only way of communication between the Muslim world and the Palestinian oppressed people in the Gaza Strip run through Egypt, the Lawmaker said, adding that during the Mubarak regime due to its alliance with the US and the Zionist regime no communication was possible however the conditions have changed.
"The situation in the region has completely changed and once the Rafah border crossing is re-opened the conditions are prepared for such contacts, he added.
