Aide: Hamas seriously considers IRI's embassy offer
A senior aide to Hamas government said the Palestinian government welcomes an establishment of Iranian embassy in Gaza.
Interviewed by Qudsna, Yousef Rizqa was commenting on the remarks of chairman of the Iranian parliamentary commission on national security and foreign policy who told Qudsna a few days earlier that Iran could open an embassy in Gaza upon a Hamas demand.
Rizqa said an opening of embassy would enhance the Arab and Islamic presence in the area and pave the way for an eventual breaking of the tyrannical siege on Gaza.
Rizqa said the establishment would also encourage other countries to follow the suit.
Rizqa then issued an invitation to all Arab and Islamic countries to open embassy or foreign missions in Gaza.
The aide to Ismail Haniya said the Palestinian government would seriously consider the Iranian proposal and would provide a response based on the strategic interests of the Palestinian nation.
He noted that an improvement in the Egyptian-Iranian ties would facilitate the way for the establishment of the embassy.
