Chairman of Society of Tehran Jews: Fate of former Soviet Union awaits Israel
Dr. Rahmatollah Rafi’, chairman of board of directors of Tehran-based Jews believes that the ongoing developments in Tunisia and Egypt are inspired by the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
Speaking to Qudsna on the eve of the 32nd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran (1979), he said Iran in the past three decades has been the flag bearer of advances for the whole world and the Islamic Revolution of Iran has been modeled by the Middle East nations and has helped awaken the people.
“The regional nations, though somewhat late, have realized that the general thoughts and aspirations of the Islamic revolution of Iran can help them to progress,” he said.
He suggested that Egypt, Tunisia and Jordan which experience a critical condition can have a shining prospect if they model Iran.
The Jewish chairman expressed hope that the Islamic Revolution of Iran will also be modeled by the European countries and the European dictators respect the rights of their people.
The Jewish chairman touched on the Zionist regime’s concerns about the emergence in Egypt of a revolution similar to Iranian revolution and said that Israel is wary of losing its staunch ally (Egypt) and no doubt, in case of coming to power of an Islamic republic in Egypt, the country will no longer cooperate with Israel.
Dr. Rafi’ concluded his remarks by quoting Imam Khomeini’s prediction of eventual disappearance of Israel, adding that Israel will suffer the fate of former Soviet Union.
