Expert: Israel raided Syria to push it into all-out war

An Iranian expert in Middle East affairs believes that the Israeli aerial attack on Syrian in the weekend was aimed to hinder the advances of the Syrian army and push the country to an all-out war.
Sayyed Hadi Sayyed-afqahi told Qudsna that the US-allied force sought in the first place to take out a UN mandate for a military intervention in Syria but in vain.
“They then resorted to a war of attrition and moved to ruin the Syrian infrastructure with an ultimate bid to topple the Syrian government,” the expert said.
The expert added that the US may have chosen Israel for the aerial operation because no other party in its side, including Turkey could and can carry out such attacks.
The Iranian analyst said the aerial attack was part of a US proxy war against the regional resistance through Israel.
The expert also cited the Syrian army’s advances in recent months in expelling the rebels and terrorists from cities as a motive for the US allies to trigger the aerial attack.
‘The rebels burst into joy following the aerial attack and called it an Israeli gift to the so-called revolution of the Syrian nation,’ Sayyed-afqahi said, suggesting that the rebel reaction helps expose some of the hidden goals behind the weekend attack.
