Islamic Jihad official: Muslim unity will secure freedom of Palestine

An official of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement said the Islamic ummah was a single body and that unity was growingly vital and imperative for the community in sight of the tough times it faces.

Khder Habib told Qudsna that the malicious conspiracies facing the Muslim community never targets any specific sect or part rather the whole Muslim community was at issue.

The Islamic Jihad leader said the Islamic unity in light of the dire situation was a religious duty.

Habib said the ummah will reach a sublime status once it gets united. The Muslim personality noted that even the Koranic term of ummah means unity, connoting that the culture of unity must flow among Muslims until a united generation is born. 

The Islamic figure said lack of unity has led to widening sectarian strife while unity may help expand the Islamic awakening movement in west Asia and North Africa.

The Palestinian official said the Muslim world’s interests rested in unity and may help keep the Palestinian issue and freedom of Quds top on the agenda of the Muslim world.

Habib said the Zionist regime was a source of threat inside the Muslim body endangering the whole Muslim interests.

A three-day conference on Islamic unity was ongoing in Tehran and will be wrapped up on Monday evening.
