Pak chancellor: Iran’s Islamic Revolution inspired the current regional uprisings

A Pakistani university chancellor said the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979 inspired the regional uprisings.

Anwar Hussain Siddiqui made the remarks in an interview Qudsna on the eve of the 34th anniversary of the revolutionary victory when asked about the effect of the Iranian revolution on the Muslim and Arab uprisings in middle east and north Africa.

The Pak academic authoity said the Islamic Revolution of Iran indeed provided a light for the regional revolutions. “it imbued the regional natijns wit the hope that they too could stand against tyranny, arrogance and dictators.”

As for the effect of the Islamic Revolution on the Palestinian issue, Siddiqui said the Islamic revolution urged the world people to involve in the Palestinian issue and pointed to the Iranian initiative of calling for an international quds day as a solid evidence.

He praised the late father of the Islamic revolution Imam Khomeini’s move to designate the day in the world calendar and called the imam as a great and example leader in the world of Islam.
