Abu Sharif: Syria crisis damaged the regional resistance against Israel

A prominent Palestinian personality believes that the crisis in Syria heavily damaged the regional resistance against Israel. Naser Abu Sharif was talking to Qudsna.

Abu Sharif described Syria as a major loop in the chain of resistance against Israel, adding that Syria was an influential played in the Palestinian issue.

The representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Iran said no country has rendered the sort and size of support to the Palestinian issue as Syria did, even Egypt.

He said the Palestinian resistance groups were worried that the Syrian crisis would cost dear to the Palestinian issue in the past year however the worries were alleviated after the eight day defense the Palestinians made in Gaza in 2012. He called the eight day war a balance maker.

Abu Sharif said the Syrian people must be allowed to decide their own fate, adding that war and destruction would not deliver any solution to the crisis.

He called on all influential regional players to adopt a peaceful solution for the crisis before it is too late.
