Motives behind desecration of Aqsa mosque

Mehdi Shakibayi: Prior to return of Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu to the occupied Palestine from a trilateral meeting in New York, the regime's troops in an orchestrated move swept the Gaza Strip and the al-Aqsa Mosque, unveiling an escalation of military movements in the lands and annulling the NY talks.

The military movements could change the existing game to provide 'Israel' with a fresh situation in which he could find a way-out from its crises.

The rampage of al-Aqsa mosque by extremist Jews on eve of the ninth anniversary of Aqsa intifada proved that the Zionist regime is never seek a peace however it pursues to covertly disrupt any source of peace so that it is not condemned as peace disruptor.

Settlement policy is another functional policy for the regime which would leave little space for any peace which would secure Palestinian rights. For the same reason, as soon as the regime is pressed by the world community to take on track of peace, it tries to divert the pressures.

The regime has some moves on agenda to disrupt the course of peace including fanatic rampages of the sacred mosque and unleashing of air raids on the Gaza Strip.

The moves however prove that a nine month effort by Barak Obama administration for securing a rooted agreement among the Palestinians and 'Israel' has ended up in failure.

The US then seeks to pull Arab and Islamic side towards itself by giving a free hand to the Zionist regime to escalate the situation and then 'force' Israel to stop its aggressions after receiving several concessions from the other side. The 22-day war on Gaza too came within the same policy.

Be that as it may, the very desecration of Aqsa mosque must not be underestimated. The regime absolutely seeks to test the reaction of the Arab and Muslim side to the issue and then decide.
