PUIC Conference, started with Parl. speakers in attendance

The 13th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC member states started this morning with the presence of Iran’s president, with parliament speakers, deputy speakers and delegations from 44 countries in attendance.

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani are scheduled to open the international conference which is held in Espinas Hotel in Tehran and will continue until tomorrow.

 

Earlier since Saturday, more than 55 resolutions have been approved by the different permanent and specialized committees of the PUIC conference that are scheduled to be approved by the parliament speakers of the OIC member states on Tuesday and Wednesday.  

 

Following to the session, President Hassan Rouhani Addressing the Muslim world’s parliamentarians, said, Palestine has regained its status as the most important issue facing the Islamic world after the collapse of the Daesh terror group in Iraq and Syria.

 

Further Rouhani said the current instability and insecurity gripping the region stem from continued Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, the US’s “tendentious and unstinting” support for the regime and the Palestinian nation’s failure to exercise its “basic right” to establish a sovereign state with Jerusalem al-Quds as its capital.
