Israel's main goal in the Sabra and Shatila’s massacre
was to destroy the Palestinian people

On the anniversary of this bloody massacre, Tehran university professor, Seyed Hadi Borhani in an exclusive interview with Qodsna elaborates the massacre, saying “In 1982, a Palestinian operation was carried out in Britain, during which the Zionist regime’s ambassador wounded in London. The Israelis have used this as an excuse to launch a nationwide offensive against Lebanon. Eventually, they occupied Lebanon and even advanced as far as Beirut”.

When the Zionist troops reached Beirut, Palestinian military forces leave Lebanon and the Palestinian refugees in Sabra and Shatila remained defenseless and homeless. Finally, the Zionists took advantage of this opportunity to commit the crimes of Sabra and Shatila against the refugees, he noted.

 “The most important goal of the Zionist regime in committing the crimes of Sabra and Shatila was to destroy the Palestinian nation. In fact, from the point of view of the Zionists, if there is a Palestinian nation, therefore this nation must have its own country, and if the Palestinians want to have their country as a world map, therefore it has no longer places for Israel and the Jewish state. Hence, from the point of the view of Israel, the existence of Israel can be defined based on the destruction of the existence of Palestine and the Palestinian people. This policy was pursued by the Zionist from the beginning and is still going on. Based on the circumstances of the day, they pursue it secretly and they still have their purpose in mind.

A large number of Palestinians were expelled from their country in 1948 and settled in Lebanon. They established organizations that some of them also carry out armed struggle against Israel. The Zionist regime took advantage of this opportunity to revenge these Palestinian militant groups so they committed the crime of Sabra and Shatila massacre. In fact, by doing so, Israel sent the message that it can not show any mercy to its enemies. They want to warn the Palestinians that you will never return to your country. The Zionists wanted to send a message to the Palestinians that Palestine will not be liberated and you must forget this desire.

Of course, despite the bloody crime of Sabra and Shatila at that time, the International Institute and the media outlets did not cover the incident very well. Media and information channels are strongly under the influenced of Zionist lobbies and some of these media owned by the Zionists.

Unfortunately, World Powers which mainly takes a position on human rights in the Western countries are differently taking very weak position regarding to Israel and prefer to keep silent.
