Statement on Hamas meetings on developments related to Palestinian cause

Hamas leadership calls for forming a unified Palestinian leadership immediately and embark upon field work without hesitation
The Hamas leadership has rounded off its meetings on the developments related to the intra-Palestinian affairs after the important summit held by secretaries-general of Palestinian factions in Ramallah and Beirut on 3 September 2020, Hamas said in statement.
This meeting was followed by bilateral talks in Istanbul between Hamas and Fatah officials on Tuesday and Wednesday 22-23 September 2020 as a preliminary stage of a comprehensive Palestinian dialogue in which an understanding was reached between Hamas and Fatah delegations to be presented to all Palestinian factions.
The meetings of Hamas leadership have concluded the following:
1- The Hamas leadership salutes all Palestinian martyrs, detainees, and injured people, stressing that it is committed to the option of resistance until liberating Palestine and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
2- The leadership lauds the understanding reached between Hamas and Fatah, confirming that it was introduced to all Palestinian factions for discussion and that bilateral talks with Fatah, despite their importance, were not an alternative to the comprehensive Palestinian dialogue.
3- Hamas reiterates its absolute rejection of all deals and plots orchestrated against the Palestinian cause and inalienable, historical Palestinian rights, reaffirming that it will face off all plots targeting the Palestinian cause and their just cause, along with all Palestinian factions.
4- National partnership and achieving unity is a strategic and compelling option for Hamas, Fatah, and all political and factions. There is no alternative for unity, which is the only guarantee to achieve our people’s aspiration for liberation of their lands and holy sites and return to their homeland.
5- National partnership revolves around restructuring the entire Palestinian political system on the basis of true democratic principles through inclusive, fair and transparent elections in all Palestinian territories, above all occupied Jerusalem, in line with a national consensus to guarantee the participation of all Palestinian segments in various Palestinian institutions, in which they are entitled to take part, starting from the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and all bodies affiliated to it.
6- The Hamas leadership confirms that it will spare no effort to achieve partnership and unity until unifying all Palestinians in the face of the Israeli occupation, which continues to defile their land and holy sites.
7- Hamas reaffirms the necessity to clear the internal atmosphere and create an environment of freedoms and pluralism and settle all disputed matters to ensure the success of unity, partnership and reconciliation in a way that wins the trust of the Palestinian people in the efforts being exerted to restore national unity.
8- The Hamas leadership calls for forming a unified Palestinian leadership immediately and embark upon field work without hesitation.
9- Hamas restates the necessity to hold comprehensive intra-Palestinian talks with the participation of all Palestinian factions immediately and agree on a roadmap to achieve partnership and reconciliation so we will start rebuilding our national institutions, face off the Israeli occupation, foil all conspiracies intended to liquidate the Palestinian cause, and put an end to the 14-year Israeli siege on Gaza and the cheap Arab normalisation with the Israeli occupation.
