Ignoring Israel being considered in US deep state
New developments have happened in the US domestic affairs which will have a swift effect on the Middle East, a former Iranian diplomat said.
“One of the important topics that will be changed, is the so-called Deal of Century. I believe Benjamin Netanyahu would face several problems with the new US government, as the political power has changed in the US,” Gholamreza Montazami said during a meeting on the effects of the shift of power in the United States on the Middle East and Palestinian issue.
“There is a powerful bond between Netanyahu and Donald Trump, and in fact, Israel and Saudi Arabia are behind the growing pressures on Iran. They repeatedly asked Trump to wage a war against Iran, but the US President ignored their requests because of the power of Iran,” Montazami added.
He then stressed that Israel controls the public opinion in the US and tries to purify the image of Israel among the American people.
Talking about “the Deep State” in the US, Gholamreza Montazami noted: “It is possible that the deep state in the US comes to this decision that they should not sacrifice their interests for the sake of Israel. This is a real matter that is underway with the US political structure.”
