US wants coalition of
Arab countries against Iran

Naser Abu Sharif

Kushner is seeking to increase pressures on Iran by establishing friendly relations between Doha and Riyadh, Abu Sharif stated.

Speaking with Qods News Agency on the topic of the recent visit of US officials to the Middle East to meet with Arab rulers and the potential of a reconciliation deal between Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Naser Abu Sharif said: “The US government does not want a unity among Persian Gulf countries, but to form a coalition of them against Iran.”

“The US government does not try to support Saudi or Qatari interests in the region,” he added.

Referring to the recent visit of Trump’s advisor, Jared Kushner to the Middle East, Abu Sharif noted that one of the main goals of Kushner’s visit was to deprive Iran of having economic advantages in Qatar.

“Kusher has stressed that the Trump administration wants Saudi Arabia to open its airspace to Qatari flights that are currently paying millions of dollars to route over Iran, a matter that would cut about $100 million from Iran’s incomes,” the Palestinian official said.

Abu Sharif then called Kushner’s policies in the region in 2017 “dividing”, saying that they led to the blockade of Qatar by Saudi Arabia and other countries.

“But now, Kushner is seeking to increase pressures on Iran by establishing friendly relations between Doha and Riyadh. There is no advantage in Kushner’s visit for Arab countries, and he does not want unity among them.”

He underlined that US policies in the region are in line with the Zionist regime’s interests, urging Arab rulers to review their decisions.
