Gaza rallies in support of Al-Quds, Al-Aqsa

Protesters also condemned Palestinian Authority Chief Mahmoud Abbas' decision to postpone the parliamentary election which was due to take place on 22 May.

Participants raised the Hamas flag and affirmed their support for Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa, and Palestinian Mourabitoun who confront the daily Israeli attacks against the holy sites.

Hamas leader Mushir Al-Masri said the Palestinian people are facing a chapter in its ongoing battle with the occupation in Al-Quds, indicating that this battle targets the existence and identity of Jerusalem, and the attempt to displace its people, desecrate its sanctities, Judaise it and abolish its Arab identity.

Al-Masri praised the victory of the Jerusalemites (residents of Al-Quds) who revolted against the occupation and succeeded in removing barriers the occupation had placed at Damascus Gate.

This victory, he continued, should have boosted the Palestinian Authority to impose "the national electoral agenda and will on the enemy and not to flee".

He accused Abbas of going against the will of the people by stopping the election.
