Hamas chief urges Arab, Muslim leaders to take firm stance against Israeli aggression

Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh has urged Arab and Muslim leaders to take firm and immediate stance in response to Israeli aggression against Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a letter sent to Arab and Muslim leaders, Haniyeh called for political and diplomatic stances to be recruited at the Arab, Islamic, and international levels to deter the Israeli occupation from continuing its atrocious assaults on the Palestinian people and their land and holy sites in occupied Al-Quds, foremost among them is Al Aqsa Mosque.

“The whole world has seen the continuous and increasing attempts by the Israeli occupation to forcefully evict 28 Palestinian families living in Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, in addition to Israeli heinous aggression against Palestinians in Bab al Amoud neighbourhood, its provocative desecration of the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque and its attacks on the worshippers inside it,” Haniyeh said in his letter.

He added: “This serious escalation should not be tolerated or go unaddressed with a powerful reaction that deters the Israeli occupation and its leaders from continuing their terrorism against Jerusalem, Al Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian people.”

Haniyeh stressed that the Israeli occupation has “crossed all red lines and provoked the sentiments of the Arab and Muslim Ummah” by targeting the Arab and Muslim history of Jerusalem and its Palestinian population and their presence and future on their land, in addition to directly targeting Al Aqsa Mosque.

The Hamas chief hoped that the Arab and Muslim world would unite in support for the Palestinian people in Al-Quds and Al Aqsa Mosque in the face of the Israeli occupation.

Addressing the Arab and Muslim leaders, Haniyeh concluded: “The Palestinian masses in occupied Jerusalem who have remained steadfast for more than 50 years to defend their land and holy sites on behalf of the whole Arab and Muslim Ummah will go ahead in this path until the liberation, return and establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.”
