in Black Sea naval drill

Tehran (Qodsna) - The United States is conducting Sea Breeze drill as Moscow has repeatedly warned of tensions in the region, especially near the Kerch Strait. Holding such an exercise while Biden is in the United States and Bennett in the Occupied Territories sends a tense and hostile message.

More than 30 countries, including Egypt, have participated in the military drill of “Sea Breeze”, which was launched by joint Naval Command of the United States and Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Black Sea two days ago.

The military exercise will end on July 10, as different military units perform the scheduled training.

The Zionist regime also participates in the drill.

Sea Breeze 2021 will last two weeks and involve about 5,000 military personnel from NATO and other allies, and around 30 ships and 40 aircraft. U.S. missile destroyer USS Ross and the U.S. Marine Corps will take part.

In an exclusive interview with Qods News Agency, an Iranian Middle East expert Hassan Hani Zadeh referred to the participation of the Zionist regime alongside the United States, saying that it would be considered as a show of power against China and Russia.

“Over the past months, both Joe Biden and the Pentagon have repeatedly expressed their concerns on the growing influence of China, Russia, and Iran in the region, which results in diminishing US power. As a result, US authorities launched a series of measures to show that they are still the superior power in the Middle East and the world,” he added.

“Attacking against the Popular Mobilization Forces’ positions in Iraq as well as targeting Syrian military infrastructures indicates their policies,” Hani Zadeh further explained.

Talking about the role of the Zionist regime in the annual Sea Breeze exercise in the Black Sea, the political analyst noted that “it shows the lasting US commitment to Israel’s military edge in the Middle East.”

He also stressed that the participation of Egypt among other countries has some meanings. “Egypt is a connection between Israel and Gaza. The Arab country’s policy is to reduce tensions between the two sides. The Egyptian government is seeking to redefine its army and military power in the region. Therefore, its participation in the military exercises, as well as the recent joint summit of Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq, can send meaningful signs.”
