Qalibaf hails outstanding achievements of Resistance front

Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf on Monday reiterated Iran's support for Palestine and the Axis of Resistance, saying this support will continue until the liberation of the holy Quds.

Qalibaf made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran with visiting Secretary-General of Palestine’s Islamic Jihad Movement Ziyad al-Nakhalah.

He pointed to the outstanding victories of the Palestinian people and the Resistance front in their recent battles with the Zionist regime, announcing that the important achievements made with the aid of the Palestinian troops, in particular the Islamic Jihad Movement, suggest the cohesion amongst diverse Palestinian Resistance groups.

Congratulating al-Nakhalah on the recent victories of the Palestinian nation in the recent 12-day war against the Zionist regime, the Iranian speaker said that the Zionist regime did not expect such a defeat and therefore the Palestinian resistance came so much pain to them.

The Iranian parliament supports any approaches that would lead to further unity among the Palestinian movements, Qalibaf said.

“The usurper Zionist regime in no way imagined this sort of defeat, and the heroic resistance of the Palestinian nation became very painful to them,” Iran’s parliament speaker said.

The latest battle with Israel, which started out on May 10, was caused when Israeli forces again stormed al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds.

The Palestinian side, for his part, hailed Iran's support for the Palestinian cause, referring to the support by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian people, and officials for the oppressed people of Palestine.   

Al-Nakhalah pointed to the effective role of martyred Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Palestine’s resistance against the Zionist regime, saying the victories of the Palestinian people and fighters would not have been possible without the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
