Four Palestinians martyred in West Bank clashes with Zionist army

At least four Palestinians were martyred on Monday in clashes with Zionist regime’s forces at the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank.

Israeli border police, who operate in the occupied West Bank, said its forces were involved in clashes.

In a tweet, Shahab News Agency cited Akram Rajoub, the governor of Jenin, as saying that four young men were killed by Israeli forces at the Jenin refugee camp at dawn on Monday.

He noted that the bodies of two of the victims were being held by Israeli authorities.

According to Palestinians media reports, heavy clashes erupted between resistance fighters and the Israeli forces during which loud explosions and gun-firing were heard.

The victims were identified as Saleh al-Ammar, Raed Abu Seif, Amjad Husniyah and Nour Jarrar.

The Palestinian Information Center said in a tweet that the Israeli forces also detained three Palestinians during the raid.

According to the PIC, Israeli media outlets had recently reported that the Israeli army was preparing for a military operation in Jenin.

Israel occupied East al-Quds, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip during the Six Day War in 1967. It later had to withdraw from Gaza but has been occupying the other territories since.

On May 10, Israel's plans to force a number of Palestinian families out of their homes at the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East al-Quds and its violent raids on worshipers at al-Aqsa Mosque prompted Palestinian retaliation that was followed by a brutal Israeli bombing campaign against the besieged Gaza Strip. About 260 Palestinians were killed in the 11-day Israeli offensive.
