Israeli forces lethally target second Palestinian teenager in less than 24 hours

A 16-year-old Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli forces late on Sunday in the occupied West Bank town of Abu Dis, south of Jerusalem, the Palestinian health ministry has said, the second teenager killed by Israel in 24 hours.

Yamen Jaffal was martyred after allegedly "throwing stones" at the occupying forces, when Zionist troops raided the town late on Sunday.

He succumbed to his wounds while held in custody by the Israeli army without any medical attention for his injuries to his head and chest, local reports said.

Israeli forces reportedly fired tear gas and rubber-coated bullets at Yamen Jaffal before detaining him.

The Israeli separation wall crosses next to Abu Dis. Israeli forces regularly raid the Palestinian town causing clashes with locals, resulting in injuries and deaths.

Israeli forces have refused to release the teenager's body to the family for burial.

The Palestinian NGO, the National Campaign for Retrieval of the Bodies of Martyrs, said that Israel has now withheld the bodies of 95 Palestinians killed by its army and police, including 11 minors.

Yamen Jaffal was the second Palestinian teenager to be martyred by Israeli forces in less than 24 hours.

Earlier on Sunday, Israeli police shot dead 19-year-old Karim Qawasmi, after he allegedly attempted to stab two Israeli officers near Al-Aqsa compound in occupied East Jerusalem's old city
