Importance of International Quds Day
becoming more apparent every year

Tehran (Qodsna) - On the eve of the International Quds Day, Qods News Agency intends to use the expert opinions of personalities and political analysts to better explain one of the most important initiatives of the great founder of the Islamic Revolution, an issue whose importance is increasingly understood every year.
In an exclusive interview with Qods News Agency, Mojtaba Ferdosipour, former Iran’s ambassador to Jordan talked about the effects of the International Quds Day on the Palestinian issue, saying that “the commemoration of International Quds Day is, in my opinion, a symbol of the struggle of the Islamic world against the occupation of Palestine.”
“We have two basic approaches in fighting with the Zionist regime; The first approach is a principled approach based on the liberation of al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the qibla of Muslims. The second approach is based on the Palestinian people who have been oppressed and occupied for more than half a century, and their lands have been occupied and they have been expelled from their homes.”
He further stressed that “the essence of the struggle against the usurping Zionist regime is defined in the discussion of defending the first qibla of the Muslims, al-Quds, as well as the effort for the complete liberation of the Palestinian land and the return of the displaced to their homeland.
Therefore, by commemorating the International Quds Day based on the political ideas of Imam Khomeini, we have been able to keep these goals alive in the Islamic world and then in the international arena.”
Referring to the current situation of the Zionist regime and the Palestinian resistance groups, Ferdosipour underlined that “today's situation of resistance is very different from the past, and I believe that in the current situation, there is a balance. The Zionist regime has learned many strategic lessons from the recent wars on various fronts, and naturally, it should not make mistakes. Because if it is based on aggression, the Palestinian resistance has been able to drag the conflict into the depths of the occupied territories and Zionist settlements.
“The Zionist regime today is very vulnerable in two areas; First, the political crisis inside Israel is deepening day by day, and the issue of demographic composition (domination of the Palestinian population) is also a serious threat to the Zionist regime,” the Iranian former official said, referring to Israel’s weak points.
“Another important point is the tactical superiority of the resistance against the Zionist regime. The resistance has been able to overcome the Zionist regime in the areas of reconnaissance, defense, drone capability, and surface-to-air missiles, which has spread fear in the Zionist society more than before,” he added.
Mojtaba Ferdosipour also talked about recent heroic operations by Palestinians against Zionists across the occupied territories.
“The Palestinian people confidently use whatever means at their disposal to liberate their land. This includes not only the people of the West Bank but also the Palestinians who live in 1948 lands who have seriously joined this process of struggle, as a result of which no Zionist settler living in the occupied territories feels safe in the current situation,” he said.
“The Palestinian resistance, like Hezbollah in Lebanon and Ansar Allah in Yemen, has expanded its weapons production capacity much more than before and has gained so much strength that it can supply weapons in a war that lasts more than 50 days. As a result, the Palestinian resistance, without the need for foreigners, has reached significant levels in the struggle and the type of operational arrangement, as well as in the field of arms supply,” the former Iranian ambassador said.
