Hamas: Aqsa Intifada practical response to Israeli schemes
Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem has affirmed that the Aqsa Intifada (uprising) was the practical response on the ground to the attempts to create a new Palestinian seeking a settlement with the Israeli occupation state and better economic conditions.
The spokesman made his remarks during a youth symposium held in Gaza on Saturday under the theme “The Aqsa Intifada on Its 23rd Anniversary … a Vibrant Youth Revolution.”
Qasem underlined that the resistance and field action strengthens the Palestinian cause’s stature and presence at the international level and stands in the face of the normalization wave in the Arab region.
The spokesman stressed that the Aqsa Intifada happened after the peace process came to a standstill and failed miserably.
The spokesman said that the Palestinian youth’s role during the Intifada was prominent and their action would remain in the lead in all stages of the Palestinian struggle.
He also said that the Intifada made one of the most important achievements in Palestinian history after it forced the Israeli occupation to leave the Gaza Strip and parts of the West Bank.
He expressed his belief that the scenario of the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza would happen one day in the West Bank in light of the escalating resistance operations there.
