New York Times scrutinizes Iran retaliatory capabilities

The New York Times published two articles to review the military power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of the Zionist regime, especially when it comes to retaliation for the regime’s recent airstrike on Iranian consulate in Syria as well as the issue that the United States’ targets unlikely to be on list in possible Iranian attack.
Tehran, Qodsna - The potential for a direct military clash between Iran and the Zionist regime has drawn renewed focus on Iran's military capabilities. Earlier this month, the regime launched an assault on a building within Iran's diplomatic compound in Damascus, Syria, resulting in the martyrdom of seven senior Iranian commanders and military personnel. In response, Iran issued a threat of retaliation.
Iran's military strategy has long centered on deterrence, with a focus on developing precise and long-range missiles, drones, and air defenses. The country has amassed a substantial fleet of speedboats and some small submarines capable of disrupting shipping and global energy supplies in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran possesses one of the largest stockpiles of ballistic missiles and drones in the Middle East, including cruise and anti-ship missiles, as well as ballistic missiles with ranges exceeding 1,200 miles. Tehran has also accumulated a significant inventory of drones with ranges of approximately 1,200 to 1,550 miles, designed to fly at low altitudes to evade radar detection.
Iran's military infrastructure, including bases and storage facilities, is widely dispersed, deeply buried underground, and fortified with air defenses, rendering them resistant to airstrikes.
The recent assassinations are anticipated to have a short-term impact on Iran's regional operations, as they resulted in the loss of experienced commanders and their relationships with allied groups’ leaders. However, experts assert that the chain of command within Iran's armed forces remains intact, and these leaders would be responsible for directing potential strikes on the Zionist regime or other targets, as well as defending Iranian territory in the event of a conflict.
