American activist in interview with Qodsna:
Pres. Raisi played pivotal role in building int’l solidarity with Palestine

An African-American activist told Qodsna that late President Raisi’s pro-Palestine policy impacted not only the West Asia region but also the Western public opinion.
Tehran, Qodsna - Abayomi Azikiwe said in an interview with the Qods News Agency that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian’s diplomacy showed to the world that it is not the Resistance which is unwilling to engage in dialogue.
Qodsna: How do you see the impact of President Raisi’s foreign policy on the Palestinian cause?
Abayomi Azikiwe: President Raisi played a pivotal role in building international solidarity with the Palestinian people. His contributions were not limited to the West Asia region, which of course is the most practically important, the example shown by the Islamic Republic of Iran has had a global impact. Inside the United States and Canada, whose governments are staunch supporters of the Zionist regime, public opinion is shifting rapidly. When the youth and workers of North America look at the work being done by the Axis of Resistance, it provides guidance in regard to building broad-based alliances against the exploitative and oppressive systems of imperialism and Zionism. Over the last two months, the college and university campuses have been a center of Palestine solidarity. The youth at these institutions and a growing number of faculty members have risked their academic and professional careers by demanding full disclosure and divestment of all financial holdings which sustain the settler-colonial state now occupying Palestine. President Raisi has laid a solid foundation for the contemporary struggle against injustice in occupied Palestine and throughout the globe.
Qodsna: What’s your take on the achievements of Iran FM Amirabdollahian concerning the potential truce in Gaza?
Abayomi Azikiwe: The Foreign Minister clearly illustrated that it is not the Resistance which is unwilling to engage in dialogue to end the oppression of the Palestinians. The Netanyahu government has consistently refused to declare a ceasefire and embark upon serious negotiations for a permanent settlement of the Palestinian question. Tel Aviv is heavily armed by the US under President Joe Biden. Despite Biden's precarious situation related to the upcoming national elections, he is more concerned about preserving the settler-colonial regime in Palestine rather than winning another term of office. Iran's foreign policy over the last several years has neutralized imperialism in West Asia. The normalization of relations with the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), among others, has left the US and its allies in the UK and European Union (EU) very little room to maneuver. Iran has been building relationships with numerous states internationally while the US is becoming more isolated.
