Entire world understands Imam Khomeini’s rightful stance on Palestinian issue

Tehran, Qodsna - Thiago Avila said in an interview with the Qods News Agency on the sidelines of the “International Conference on Imam Khomeini, Palestine and Islamic Awakening” in Tehran that Imam Khomeini’s stance on Palestine and the Zionism was totally correct and the world public opinion witnesses its rightfulness nowadays.

Qodsna: What is Imam Khomeini’s legacy in respect to the Palestinian issue?

Thiago Avila: Now the whole world sees the Palestinian cause and the propaganda of Zionism. Since Nakba there have been people who tried to tell people the truth and Imam Khomeini was one of those amazing people that who did not give up the issue of Palestine, because it was a matter of principle, not just a matter of opportunity; so, I would defend this right now.

He said the liberation of Palestine and the end of this cancerous tumor was something important for the peace in the entire region. It’s very good to have these huge influences that Imam Khomeini had in all around the world regarding the Palestinian cause. We see his legacy every day when we see this (Martyr General Qassem) Soleimani’s action and when we see President Ebrahim Raisi so many people and Imam Khamenei and all those actions were inspired by that. Imam Khomeini was totally correct and now the entire world sees. I wish Imam Khomeini was seen around the world that people are trying to free Palestine, because it’s his legacy as well.

Qodsna: What is the impact of Ayatollah Khamenei’s letter to students protesting for the rights of Palestinians?

Thiago Avila: The colonized educational system and the monopolized imperialist media are supporting the Zionist regime they do such an ideological war. They make people don’t know, which people they can trust; so, it’s very important that we have a connection. People in the US college encampments see they received lies all their lives. So, Imam Khamenei’s letter was like a good message. All around the world, people are having this struggle at a terrible cost. Now finally we have a lot of youths in the world and in the US together in the same struggle. The future of our planet is being decided right now in Palestine right now, we hope that we win and that would be a totally different world. It is amazing that we share and connect to the Islamic Revolution; in fact, we are allies in the same project of future.

Qodsna: What would be the future of Palestine and especially Gaza in your viewpoint?

Thiago Avila: When we see Zionism so desperate, because they didn’t achieve military victory against Hamas that they say and they didn’t release what they call are hostages, but they are not real goals, they want to do ethnic cleansing and they want to continue their genocide. The Palestinian people have such an amazing resistance capacity, so much resilient, so much steadfast; so, they cannot win by military force. Palestinian people will win, like we defeated apartheid in South Africa. Zionism will go to the trash bin of history. I believe that when this happens and Zionism is in its final stage because they don’t have the trust of people anymore. I believe we will see a free Palestine in our lifetime. I hope this will happen as soon as possible because people are dying right now. Zionism is getting so weekend. All the people from that region will realize that they do not live in separate countries but they are in the same Palestinian country, like when they were living before the Zionism and the British colonialism.
