Albanian historian in interview with Qodsna:

Axis of resistance inspired by Imam Khomeini’s Islamic Revolution

An Albanian historian told Qodsna that Imam Khomeini’s teachings and Islamic Revolution helped Muslim nations to establish the axis of resistance to stand against British-Zionist plot.

Tehran, Qodsna - Olsi Jazexhi said in an exclusive interview with the Qods News Agency that Imam Khomeini and his Islamic Revolution of 1979 inspired Muslims to view Islam as the ideology that would liberate Palestine.

Qodsna: As you know Imam Khomeini predicted the collapse of Israel and the Palestinian people’s victory in retaking their homeland, with this said, what is the impact of Imam Khomeini’s Islamic Revolution of Iran on the Palestinian issue?

Olsi Jazexhi: The impact of Imam Khomeini has been immense in the global Islamic movements. The Islamic Revolution of 1979 and the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran inspired millions of Muslims worldwide to view Islam as the ideology that would liberate Palestine and all of humanity from Zionism and imperialism.

The resistance against Israel, currently led by the Axis of Resistance including Hamas, Hezbollah, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Ansar Allah in Yemen, and the Islamic Resistance groups in Syria and Iraq, is a result of the work of Imam Khomeini and his Islamic Revolution in Iran. It is widely acknowledged that without Iranian support, the Palestinian issue would have been crushed by Zionism. The Muslim world now sees Iran as the vanguard of Islamic resistance and the Palestinian war of liberation.

For Sunnis, Imam Khomeini and his Islamic Revolution of 1979 revived the era of the Sunni Caliphate of Sultan Abdulhamid II. [Imam] Khomeini realized the desires of Sultan Abdulhamid II, Jamaludin al-Afghani, the Muslim Brotherhood, Shaykh Hassan al-Banna, and Sayed Kutb. They all dreamed of mobilizing Muslims under one banner in defense of Islam. Tehran and its revolution of 1979 revived the Istanbul of the 1890s when Sultan Abdulhamid II and Jamaludin al-Afghani were promoting the ideology of Muslim patriotism, pan-Islamism, and resistance against European colonialism.

The Iranian nation which nowadays follows and implements the teachings of Imam Khomeini, is today fighting the war that the Ottoman Sunnis lost to British-Zionism in 1918. The Islamic Republic of Iran, which Imam Khomeini established, has replaced the Ottoman Empire. The British-Zionist empire, which in 1924 thought that Islam was dead and were free to donate Palestine to the Zionists, has now come to realize that Islam is still alive thanks to the teachings of Imam Khomeini.
