Zionist apartheid occupation can come to end by int’l, regional, personal measures

Tehran, Qodsna – Fra Hughes said in an exclusive interview with the Qods News Agency that the imposition of sanctions, pressures on governments to stop supporting the Zionist regime and the dissemination of information can pave the way for the end of the regime and liberation of Palestine.

In response to a question about the way that the international community and people around the globe can help Palestinian people get rid of the Israeli occupation, the analyst underlined:

“Many analysts see parallels between apartheid South Africa and apartheid Israel. Indeed, the comparisons are both applicable and warranted but there are huge differences between the two. South Africa had a small white European colonial government reliant on its military to subjugate the indigenous population it used violence, repression incarceration, economic control coercion, quislings, favoritism, patronage and the law to bolster its role in power for decades.

Numerically it was far inferior to the native population but it did not try to replace the indigenous population rather like all colonial occupations it wanted to exploit the natural resources and the native workforce for its own aggrandizement at the expense of wider society. The South African liberation movement had safe havens in neighboring countries from which they fought for freedom. It was supported by Cuba and Russia among others. It had a twin track of exposing the white supremacist racist apartheid regime internationally while simultaneously undermining the state through armed insurrection from within. 

The writing was always on the wall, the ANC would win and the supremist minority would settle for a place at the governmental table, it could be argued the ANC lost when it obtained the levers of power through a public mandate but the economic levers, the power house of wealth creation in the country was left in the hands of the racists. The ANC got power without economic control leaving black south Africans arguably worse off today than before the end of apartheid. They simply changed a white racist elite for a black corrupt elite leaving the ordinary people in poverty.

Palestine is different There are no safe havens for Palestinians, no super power support, no tanks, aircraft or navy, no heavy weaponry, just a people-led liberation, fighting alone against the fourth largest army in the world with home-made explosives, a few mortars and light Calber weapons. The vision of Israelis for the Palestinians is the model of the wild West in America. Reservations for the Palestinians Bantustans and economically stagnant enclaves. As long as Zionist America supports Israel this is an ever-growing shadow over the land of Palestine. How can the world help? Now that’s another question altogether. The world does not want to help. The west is becoming increasingly Islamophobic. The wars in the region prove as much Syria, Libya, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Zionism is exploiting Islamophobia in its own narrow interests. Jews are not the problem it the terrorist Islamist is their mantra. ISIS created by the CIA is a tool to frighten Western 'civilization' that the barbaric Islamists are coming for your children. The head chopping heart eating neanderthals are at the gates. Europe is a garden and the rest of the world is a jungle that’s how EU leaders describe the global south, echoed by Netanyahu when he spoke of Israel being a bastion for the West preventing the barbarians from attacking Europe, if they get through us you are next. Israel portrays itself as an outpost of European civilization against a hoarded of blood thirsty religious extremists. He is right except the hoarded of blood thirsty religious extremists are actually Zionists. October 7, 2023, exposed Americas and EU unqualified support for apartheid Israel, and the mask has slipped irrevocably.

Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions have a part to play. A total embargo on the pariah fascist state by regional governments is imperative. Turkey sells Israel steel, others gas, energy and oil supplies, and still more normalize with the rogue regime buy weapons and operate security cooperation pacts such as Jordan and Egypt.

People power can only do so much in the West, the real power lies with governments, corporations and vested economic interests. Real change may come from the birth of a multi polar world order where cooperation trust economic and foreign policy interests interact. BRICS the SCO inward investment in the global south may lead to the isolation of western imperialist hegemony and create the circumstances were sovereign states act in the interests of humanity and the interests of the oppressed thus promoting peace, stability and economic empowerment for the many not just the few.

On a personal note, I would encourage others to speak out, to write, to fundraise, to support the people of Palestine. March boycott and rally fly a Palestinian flag at your home, wear a keffiyeh and confront Zionism. I went on one of George Galloways siege busting convoys to Gaza, Viva Palestina 5 September/October 2010. I helped deliver a 13-seater wheel chair accessible mini bus to the Al Awda Hospital in Gaza city. I am a volunteer director of Palestine Aid [Palestine Aid Belfast/Ireland] a registered charity and we support missions on the ground in Palestine.

Liberation can only come from within the axis of resistance could defeat Israel tomorrow if Zionism was not militarily supported by the West. Biden’s bombs equal Bidens war. We must support the right of Palestinians to choose resistance which is enshrined in international law, we can call for change in Western and regional pro-Israeli governmental policies but for me until liberation is achieved, I will keep raising awareness through my writings and commentary but just as critically. I alongside others will continue to raise funds to help lives in Gaza now and rebuild lives going forward. When this brutal genocide ends the people of Palestine will need your support then more than ever. Do not be found wanting on the day you enter Jannah.”
