Iran president warns against Lebanon strike, backs Gaza
The Iranian and French presidents discussed in a phone call a range of subjects, including the war in Ukraine, the current events in Gaza and Lebanon, and negotiations to remove anti-Iranian sanctions.
Tehran, Qodsna - French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on winning the Iranian presidential election and praised the new Iranian President's foreign policy strategy of emphasizing engagement and balance.
In a phone call, Macron went on to say that he hoped the new age would see a greater improvement in Iran's relations with France and other European nations than in the previous one.
Pezeshkian, on the other hand, emphasized the historical political and cultural linkages that exist between France and Iran and suggested that these relationships may serve as a foundation for future diplomatic exchanges between the two nations.
Additionally, he declared that Iran was prepared to strengthen its ties with France by fostering mutual respect and integrity.

Declaring that Iran is prepared to proceed with JCPOA-related talks on the lifting of anti-Iranian sanctions within the established parameters, Pezeshkian emphasized that Tehran expects other parties to fulfill their obligations and to stop applying pressure and harsh sanctions on the Iranian people.
Subsequently, Pezeshkian issued a warning, stating that any attack on Lebanon by "Israel" will backfire and have severe consequences on the occupation.
