More than 90,000 displaced Palestinians sheltering in 115 UN-run facilities across Gaza: UNRWA

UN-run facilities across the Gaza Strip are sheltering more than 90,000 displaced Palestinians in 115 locations, UNRWA reported.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said on Sunday that approximately 420,000 Palestinians have been displaced again since the collapse of the recent ceasefire on March 18.

At least 1.9 million people, or about 90 percent of Gaza's population, have been displaced during the Zionist regime's genocidal war on the territory.

UNRWA said the situation was exacerbating rapidly due to frequent Israeli bombardments and the blockade of international aid from reaching Gaza.

“An already dire situation is deteriorating due to bombardment and the siege blocking the entry of humanitarian and commercial supplies.”

Zionist regime’s airstrikes martyred at least 70 people in Gaza in the past 48 hours, with the number of casualties increasing as the attacks intensify across the besieged territory.

Palestinian civilians were targeted in multiple locations, with Gaza City and northern Gaza accounting for over half of the fatalities. However, the bombardment extended throughout the territory, with lethal attacks also reported in the southern cities of Khan Younis and Rafah.

Multiple sources from international organizations and rights groups monitoring the conditions in Gaza said the Israeli forces have closed all Gaza border crossings, blocking the entry of essential food, medicine, and other relief supplies, further exacerbating the already dire humanitarian situation.

At least 51,065 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and 116,505 wounded in Zionist regime’s war on Gaza since it began in October 2023.

Doctors Without Borders decried the Israelis for massacring the Palestinians as well as the humanitarian workers trying to alleviate their suffering.

“Gaza has been turned into a mass grave of Palestinians and those coming to their assistance,” Amande Bazerolle, MSF’s emergency coordinator in Gaza, said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Health Ministry in Gaza on Tuesday said 1,400 health workers have been martyred in Gaza since the war began.

“We are witnessing in real time the destruction and forced displacement of the entire population in Gaza,” Bazerolle said.
