Struggle against Zionists to continue/ Israel war criminals to be prosecuted

Tehran (qodsna)- A Canadian writer, senior journalist and political expert Eric Walberg, talked with Qods News Agency (qodsna) in an exclusive interview about the Zionist regime’s crimes and genocide against Palestinians and international community’s stance against Zionist regime’s crimes as well as Yemen’s Ansarullah support to people of Gaza.

The interview comes as follows:

Qodsna: As you know, Israel resumed its relentless bombing of Gaza and has shattered the Gaza ceasefire with Hamas adopted on 19 January. Israel has resumed weaponizing starvation in Gaza by its decision to break the ceasefire agreement. Israel has broken international law by blocking aid to Gaza. What’s your opinion? What should we do to stop the Israeli crimes against Palestinians?  How can the international community help Palestinians get rid of the Israeli occupation?

Eric Walberg: The tragedy is being played out before our eyes. it is obscene but US-Israel is in control and there is nothing we can do. The only time resistance is shown, by Hezbollah and Iran, US-Israel threatens them with annihilation too.

The International Union of Muslim Scholars called on all Muslim countries in April 2025 “to intervene immediately militarily, economically and politically to stop this genocide and comprehensive destruction, in accordance with their mandate. The failure of the Arab and Islamic governments to support Gaza while it is being destroyed is considered by Islamic law to be a major crime against our oppressed brothers in Gaza,” he said in the decree comprising some 15 points. But the sheikh of al-Azhar, no doubt directed by Egypt's dictator al-Sisi, dismissed the fatwa, saying only a head of state can organize a jihad.

The paralysis of the Arab world is exactly what the imperialists want. They carved up the Arab world in 1917, gave Palestine to Europe's Jews, and we have been living out this last gasp of 19th century imperialism till today.

Qodsna: Ansarullah said that Yemen will not back down from continuing its support operations for the Palestinian people until the Israeli aggression on Gaza stops and the siege is lifted. Ansarullah officials affirmed that Yemen's stance on Palestine stems from religious, national, and moral principles. Ansarullah vowed to continue their military operations against Israel and US forces in the region. How do you evaluate the Yemeni people and Ansarullah stance in support of innocent Palestinian people.

Eric Walberg: Ansarullah is the only part of the ummah acting bravely to defend the Palestinians. Their martyrs, bombed by US-Israel, will populate heaven. Biden and Trump have both supported Saudi Arabia in attacking them, to no avail.

Qodsna: Israel is coming under increasing international criticism over its handling of the war in Gaza. Millions of people around the world have taken part in protests against Israel’s war crimes. Protesters voiced outrage over what they described as war crimes committed by Israel in the besieged Gaza Strip and demanded immediate international action. What’s your opinion that Israel is becoming more and more isolated due to its genocide?

Eric Walberg: The fact that the world has allowed US-Israel to get this far is not a good sign. The Zionist grip on world leaders is a death grip. Unless you toe the Israeli line, you are subject to economic blackmail, political intrigue and worse.

But just as Trump's lies and destruction are becoming fuel for a general strike to bring his infamy to a halt, so world public opinion can have its say. We must encourage economic boycotts and pursue Israel war criminals when they leave Israel. The fact that the young people today are at the forefront of the resistance, being targeted and arrest, deported from the US, is a good sign. Many are Jews and have decisively turned against Israel. The struggle will continue.
