AL initiative serves Israel - expert

An Iranian expert in Middle East affairs says an Arab League’s initiative calling for exchange of land between Palestinians and Israelis would only serve the Israeli interests.
Hossein Rouyvaran made the remarks in an interview with Qudsna. The pro-Palestinian activist said the initiative ignores the Palestinian resistance and its achievements and has been designed to deal a blow to the regional resistance movement.
He said the initiative has come in a time when Israel has no offer for any talks with the Palestinian authority and has discredited the option of talks. “In other words, the Arab League has offered one-sided concessions to the Israeli side,” Rouyvaran said, who is member of Iran-based Society in defense of the Palestinian Nation (SDPN).
The expert said the bone of contention in the so-called peace talk has been the settlement issue and the Arab League initiative actually takes out the issue without resolving it in favor of the Palestinians. The initiative actually resolves the Israeli problem, he said.
The expert added however that all Palestinian groups have opposed the initiative, proving that Palestinians would never grant such concessions to the Israeli side.
