Israelis protest against austerity measures

Around 100 social Israeli movement protesters marched on Shivtei Yisrael street in occupied al-Quds on Saturday evening and were blocking the intersection at Tzahal Square and disrupting the movement of the light rail there. The police said that after the demonstrators did not comply with police instructions to leave the area, they began to arrest the leaders of the protest. Three protesters were arrested. Last summer, a protest movement swept Israel when hundreds of thousands of Israelis marched and set up protest camps in city centers. Activists say that the situation has not changed as a result of last year’s rallies.
