Palestinian cultural week set for Algeria

Two days ago, delegates of the Palestinian Ministry of Culture arrived in Algeria and started the final preparations for the Palestinian Cultural Week; the preparations are conducted in coordination with the Algerian National Ministry for Culture and Media.

 

The Cultural Week is scheduled to start on December 5, 2007. The Palestinian delegates arrived in Algiers on Saturday, and were received by officials of the Algerian Ministry of Culture.

 

Palestinian Minister of Culture, Dr. Ibrahim Abrash, stated that these activities are very important since they reflect a positive image of the Palestinian people and affirms that art and culture can unite the Palestinian people as politics divided them.

He added that the Palestinian Ministry of Culture participated in an assembly for Arab Ministers of Culture which was also hosted by Algeria.

 

Nader Jalal, head of the Arts Department at the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, said the he believes that the Cultural Week is a great opportunity to spread the Palestinian art in Algeria and the Arab world.
