Israel's 2008 strategy: Distancing Syria from Hezbollah, I.R. of Iran
Zionist regime's Foreign Ministry hopes to develop a political relationship with Syria in 2008 and wants to distance Syria from Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement Hezbollah and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the daily An Nahar quoted Israeli Haaretz as saying.
Haaretz, citing a ministry document, claimed that Zionist regime's work plan was to distance Syria from Iran and from Hezbollah in Lebanon and from Palestinian factions labeled "terrorists" by the Zionist regime.
Other goals for the year, according to the document, include "opening of new channels of communication with countries with which Israel has no diplomatic relations."
Haaretz said the document, which was approved by Zionist's Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, also stresses the need for promoting the 'peace' process which begun in Annapolis and isolating the legitimate Hamas government.
