According to Moon, a million and a half Palestinians now live in Gaza without power, electricity and other basic necessities. \r\n \r\n“The situation could turn dangerous if immediate action is not taken,” said Moon at the international donors’ conference in Paris. The secretary general also stated that 80% of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip currently receive aid from UN food agencies.\r\nKi-moon urged Monday the international community to show generous and immediate support for the Palestinians.\r\n"I call upon the donor partners to invest now, to invest generously, and to remain steadfast in their financial commitment over the next 36 months," Ban told.\r\n"Over the past seven years, the conflict has taken a heavy toll," the UN chief said, adding, "I have made no secret of my concern for the 1.4 million people of Gaza who today are living under the most abhorrent conditions."\r\n"Indeed, we must move quickly now, because the process can succeed only if we overcome the gap between our diplomatic efforts and the situation on the ground," Ban added.","content_html":"
