But the monarchy fulfills the function of a Western proxy. So the answer is: As a Western proxy Saudi Arabia doesn´t have any interest in the fate of the Palestinians. In that context the alliance between Tel Aviv and Riyadh is a logical step. Both, Israel and Saudi Arabia are regional proxies of an extra regional power – the US.\r\n\r\n\tThe Saudi Arabian support for regional terrorist forces should be also seen as a “friendly service” given by Riyadh to the masters in the US. The geopolitical spin doctors for the tragedy in the Near and Middle Eastern region are sitting in Washington, the operators in Tel Aviv and Riyadh. We should consider Saudi Arabia not as a part of a solution of regional problems – but as a part of the problem.\r\n\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\tQodsna: In the anniversary of last summer's Gaza War, we see that despite the high toll of Palestinians, in the public opinion Israel is considered as defeated and Palestinians are deemed as victorious. What is your opinion about this reality?\r\n\r\n\tOchsenreiter: This is an almost philosophical question. When is a war party victorious? When defeated? In the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians we witness a war conducted by a modern und well equipped military machine against idealistic partisans – the biblical duel between Goliath and David. Those asymmetric conflicts have a huge psychological component.\r\n\r\n\t Israel has a problem with the morale of its population. Tel Aviv has to justify its war against the Palestinians over and over again. When an Israeli soldier gets killed in action or detained it means a big negative shock for the Israeli morale. In contrary, a killed Palestinian is considered as a martyr and strengthens the morale of the Palestinian side. In long term it means: Israel can win many future battles when it comes to pure statistics of killed Palestinians – but it can´t win the war.\r\n\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\tQodsna: What is the reason of the Israel's latest attacks on Syria? Do you think that these attacks are related to supporting terrorist groups in Syria?\r\n\r\n\tOchsenreiter: Israel is giving air support for the so-called “rebels” in Syria. There were several air attacks conducted by the Israeli air force against Syria within the last years. Again: Israel is a proxy of the West in the region, a bridgehead of Washington. Since the beginning of the Syrian war the West supported different terrorist groups in Syria, first camouflaged as “democratic, armed opposition”, later unmasked as brutal Takfiri militias.\r\n\r\n\t Israel was giving support for the rebels since the beginning of the Syrian war in 2011. The purpose of those Western anti-Syrian activities is clear: disintegrating and dismantling the last sovereign and independent entity in the region – Syria.","content_html":"
