Under the situation, establishment of any ties between the two was conditioned to the removal of the two factors. During the last decade, the Israeli military dominance weakened due to the strengthening of resistance movements in the region especially Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon which defeated the regime in the 22-day and 33-day wars respectively.    The success of Palestinian groups in liberating some parts of the Palestinian lands, Gaza, for the first time in 2005 was also a source of hope. The current uprisings in the region that have led to the collapse of the puppet Arab regimes have further prepared the situation for Iran to establish ties at several levels, including cultural, social, financial and political ones. \r\nPalestinian people have had an embassy in Tehran as old as the Islamic Republic of Iran.
