However, the recognition and the welcome are two separate issues. The recognition is not new as many countries have already recognized the state following the UN resolution which divided Palestine and granted 51 percent of it to Jews while recognizing 1 percent of it as international.\r\nThe recognition however points to a marred and feeble diplomatic status the Zionist regime suffers before the countries. The world once did not dare recognize the UN resolution and now it does.\r\nThe recognition also stands evidence to an ever growing solidarity with the Palestinian people across the world, especially in South America which is regularly dubbed as backyard if the US. The growth of solidarity was a diplomatic victory for the Islamic Republic, founded by the late Imam Khomeini, which seeks an international resolve against the Zionist regime. The welcome presented by the Palestinian Authority however is another story to touch. The Palestinian Authority as the frustrated face of compromise with the Zionist regime seeks to revive its position after it failed to achieve anything during the much touted direct talks with ‘Israel.’ It wishes to see the world considering it still as a player in the Palestinian arena.","content_html":"
