Moreover, majority populations are always likely to strive to find some way of curing their regional illnesses.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQods News Agency: What was the goal of Imam Khomeini in designating the especially day for the Palestinian people?\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe day acts as a reminder of injustice and, in particular, of religious duty to resolve the region's injustices. Where memory is concerned, the longest possible memories are those of Arabs and of Muslims. They will always remain faithfull to the call for justice in Palestine.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQods News Agency: Iran always has called for holding a referendum in the occupied territories so that the original residents, whether Muslim, Jew, or Christian, determine their own future. Why do you think that Western pro-democratic states ignore such a democratic proposal?\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWestern states are NOT democratic. The so-called democratic right (the vote) is a very weak power, exerciised infrequently usually with little or no effect. True democracy is economic democracy (which the West has no intention of granting). This is the fundamental reason why the West allies itself with the autocratic regimes of West Asia -- the West and the regimes do not want democracy and particularly do not want it in West Asia.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQods News Agency: How do characterize the current situation in the Middle East?\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAs an arrogance-fuelled group of partygoers who are so convinced of their superiority to everybody else that they have not noticed that roughly 75% of the area's population hate their guts (i.e., despise them).\r\n\r\n\r\nQods News Agency: What is your thought on the normalization process between the Arab countries and Israel?\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nIt is not a normalisation process but an abnormalisation one. It is contrary to the wishes of most people, incompatible with the basic culture of the region, and a distortion of the true trend of history.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQods News Agency: Do you think, the normalization can lead to forgetfulness of the resistance and idea of free Palestine?\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe so-called normalisation process is not only about particular regimes cosying up to Israel as they face a common enemy -- the hostility of a big majority in the region -- it is also about hiding extreme rich-poor division and how the coming food price inflation (and its disastrous effects on ordinary people) will lead to calls for the ending of regimes. Israel and Arab countries are, of course, trying to create forgetfulness but the Arab memory and, even more so, the Islamic memory, easily goes back hundreds of years.
